Beverly Bane
Beverly Bayne (1894-1982)
Photographed By Orval Hixon 1919
Born Pearl Von Name in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she first appeared in many silent Hollywood romances in the 1910s. She is one of the pioneers of the screen starting at the Essenay in Chicago.
It is there she met Francis X. Bushman. They were the first popular romantic team in American cinema. They reached their zenith while working at the Metro between 1916-1918. Their on–screen chemistry was real and they were married secretly in 1918.
However, their public divorce in 1924 ended Bayne’s screen career although she tried to make a come-back in films in the 1930’s. From around 1935 to 1950 she worked on stage and in Vaudeville.
She had a long professional career due to her years of stage and Vaudeville experience. She appeared in more than 500 photoplays and 156 silent films.
Beverly Bane has a star on The Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
